BUILDING MEANINGFUL EMPLOYMENT THAT PUTS FAMILY FIRST.
Our movement is rooted in family, community and faith.
Our roots were seeded in a desire to put family first, a passion for serving in the community
and a thirst to be part of something bigger that had purpose and meaning.
OUR MOVEMENT IS SIMPLE - WE BELIEVE;
Life is more about who you are than what you do.
Life is a gift and we have a choice in how we live it.
Life is meant to be shared and lived in community.
Life’s greatest joy is in serving others.
We are all part of a bigger story and that EVERY STORY MATTERS.
WHAT IS THE “IVY MISSION”?
MyBabbo’s Ivy Mission is an approach to business that puts families first
and at the core of our decision making. It is a desire to build a culture that
seeks to leave a lasting impact in the communities we serve. For us, this
begins with putting families first – those we employ and those we work with.
We provide employment opportunities to moms who are seeking flexible
work hours so that they can balance the needs of their family.
WHY DO WE CALL IT THE “IVY MISSION”?
The Ivy Mission is a company belief inspired by Ivy Glen, a cherished family friend who passed away in March 2012. Ivy was a single mother who, in spite of many challenges, always put the needs of her family first and brought joy to all she touched. She lived an inspiring life that was a testament to family, faith and serving in the community. Ivy affirmed our belief that every story matters and has a purpose. She taught us that we are here to live in community with one another and that everyone has something to offer.
It is appropriate that her name was Ivy, as like an ivy plant
we want to spread hope and inspiration to those we serve.
WHAT IMPACT HAS THE “IVY MISSION” HAD?
Our Ivy Mission has created many jobs for moms and women at seasons
in their lives where they needed to have a flexible work-life balance and
the ability to work remotely. This has included providing jobs for some
that have been on government assistance and has helped them build
confidence and get back into the workforce. One of our biggest blessings
has been having the privilege to walk alongside Portley, Ivy’s daughter,
after her passing. Portley worked for MyBabbo as a Legacy Creator to
assist with her bills while she attended the University at Brock.
She went on to get her Masters of Political Science at the University
of Saskatchewan and now works for the government in Toronto.
We are so proud of everything Portley has accomplished and we know Ivy would be too!

A CULTURE THAT PUTS FAMILIES FIRST
“I really enjoy working at MyBabbo because I get a great feeling when
I complete a book and know that it will mean a lot to the family receiving it.
I know having the book and video of my mom brought me much-needed
comfort. Making these books for me means that I get to make the
difficult time these families are going through a little easier. ”
– Portley Ghartey-Johnson, Legacy Creator
“I love that working at MyBabbo doesn’t feel like work. I love that the work
I create has such a profound impact on a family’s life during their time of
grief. I have seen firsthand how our products can put a smile on a face of
someone feeling so much sadness, and how much they cherish having these
memories at their fingertips. I also love the passion this company has for
helping others – it’s contagious.”
– Melissa Betto, Legacy Creator
“MyBabbo offers me a meaningful outlet for my creativity, flexible work
hours so I can still be a stay at home mom, and a positive and
encouraging team of people to work with.”
– Jenn Krishnan, Chief Photo Book Designer
